Barrett: We're still on track

Trent Barrett insists Wigan's season is still on track - the inspirational Australian half-back wants to see the pain of their most recent defeat inspire Warriors in the play-offs.
Barrett was hurting as much as his team-mates when Leeds rattled up a half-century of points at the JJB Stadium on Friday, the Yorkshire side's highest score on Warriors' home turf.
But the stand-in skipper is adamant the wounds can be healed in time for another mighty test of character – the visit to form-team St Helens in the last Super League game of the season in 10 days' time.
Warriors' chances of a home tie in the play-offs are slim indeed after losing to Leeds and now they've got Bradford breathing down their necks for fifth spot after Bulls beat Hull KR 42-18 at Odsal yesterday.
But Barrett – Cronulla-bound next year – said: "The defeat by Leeds hurt us a lot and we need to use that pain to motivate ourselves to do much better.
"Leeds were running hot on the night, but we still let ourselves down, especially defensively.
"It's painful when you lose like we did, particularly at home because we still had a pretty good record at the JJB going into that game.
"It certainly wasn't what we wanted in terms of preparation because next up we have to go to St Helens, so things aren't going to get any easier.
"But the hurt can do you good. We've got a week off which we really need as we've got some wounded players who should now have the time to get themselves right."
Win or lose against St Helens, Warriors will still qualify for the play-offs.
But they look certain to be doing it tough and playing ties on the road right from the off.
Barrett, who has never won a domestic trophy either here or home in Sydney added: "We need to regroup because there's a big challenge coming up.
"It was disappointing to finish at home the way we did, but hopefully we can finish the season on a much more positive note and give the fans something to cheer.
"We know we're going to make the play-offs, but that's no reason to be complacent.
"We have to be determined whoever we play.
"This is a new competition and who knows what may happen."
