The secret behind Iafeta Paleaaesina's upsurge in form has been revealed – sweat, sweat and more sweat.
Paleaaesina has been tipped to ignite the play-off series after a gruelling training regime that has put him in the best shape of his life.

The human wrecking-ball has been arriving for training up to two hours early, and has already stripped 10kg off his giant frame with punishing sessions on the treadmill, rower and bike.

Fitness coach Mike Forshaw said: "Feka's in from 7.30am, he's always one of the first in. He's showed a lot of commitment and he's reaping the rewards.

"I have an extras group and Feka's been training the house down. His programme is different to other players because he's naturally a big bloke.
"He's in great shape and he's got some willpower."

With only one remaining game of the season – an epic battle at St Helens – before the play-offs, he has been tipped to play a starring role in Wigan's Grand Final quest.

He has gradually been lengthening his spells on the pitch, with coach Brian Noble keen to ensure that playing more minutes out on the field doesn't dull his impact with the ball.

"For big guys like Feka and Joe Vagana, it helps when the team can keep
hold of the ball because it's harder for big guys to do the defending," said Forshaw, who was renowned for his fitness during a playing career with Leeds, Bradford and Warrington.

"I'm not sure if there's anyone quite like Feka. I spoke to Matthew Elliot, the Penrith coach, and he said to me, 'When Feka runs get out the baseball bats and lay landmines because you need them when he's coming'."

Coach Brian Noble said other players have joined Paleaaesina in committing themselves to extra sessions in the gym or on the training paddock.

"Feka's been going well, he's in better shape than he has been for a while," said Noble.
"There are a few putting their hands up for extras and it's good to see."

Maurie Fa'asavalu must push him close!

Yeah Ste good point, but let's not forget that Matt King is on the most money per minute for lack of effort!

Hey I've been comparing stats on Feka and we would be foolish to let him go. We want players with spirit who want to play for the shirt and Feka is one of those
