A mother convicted of a "cynical" mortgage fraud has narrowly avoided jail.
Jennifer Tart supplied false information in order to land the £191,000 loan.
The 34-year-old single mother, who has a degree in accounting, claimed she had relied on the financial advice given to her – and had therefore not realised that her actions were dishonest.

But Judge Christina Lyon told her: "You sought to blacken the name of your mortgage adviser, Linda Regan, and portray yourself as a naive woman.
"I have absolutely no doubt that you knew exactly what you were doing."
Tart, of Cranfield Road, Hawkley Hall, had denied a charge of obtaining a money transfer by deception, but was convicted by a jury after a trial.

Tart was given a 51-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, with six months' supervision and a requirement to do 240 hours' unpaid work for the community.

The offence dated back to December 2006 and involved deceiving Birmingham Midshires Building Society about the size of her income in order to secure a mortgage on a property in Raithby Drive, Hawkley Hall.

Tart owned two properties – a former residence which she rented out and another obtained as part of the mortgage, Preston Crown Court was told.
The two houses were at Raithby Drive and Glemsford Close, also Hawkley Hall. Tart was a woman of previous good character.
