A neighbourhood in Wigan is celebrating after a yob who caused months of trouble moved off the estate.
Residents of Sussex Close in Hindley say they have suffered six months of torment after a neighbour from hell was housed on their estate.
The man, who has not been named, was put in the council property after leaving jail and neighbours say they wer
e plagued by anti-social behaviour and noise from the start.
One 75-year-old woman said: "We've had the police out many a time and they can't understand why the council put him in a place like this. One of his neighbours is a 90-year-old man.
"As soon as he moved in, the parties and loud music started and cars came screeching into this little close.
"It's really scary for us and the language his friends use is appalling, and that's just the girls.
"There are queues of people outside the house sometimes and it's very intimidating.
"I think the council changed the locks on his house, but he broke back in. When they do finally get rid of him we'll be out in the street to wave him off."
A spokesman for Wigan and Leigh Housing said: "We were intending to take enforcement action but as far as we understand, the tenant has decided to leave the flat of his own accord and his tenancy agreement has been terminated."
